As if the Porsche 911 wasn't amazing enough on its own, there has been an announcement for two new variants on the original's power and performance. For those wishing for a little more to choose from, you now have the option. All of us here at Porsche of Monterey, serving the greater Marina area, are just as excited as you.

These two variants we mention are, of course, the of the Turbo and Turbo S persuasion. Both options will offer an all-wheel drivetrain and some pretty cool new features like active rear steering, adaptive aerodynamics, and Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC).

The increase in power and performance is nothing to scoff at, either. A new 3.8-liter six-cylinder engine with direct fuel injection will bring the Turbo up to 520 horsepower and 560 in the Turbo S model. A seven-speed dual clutch transmission (PDK) transfers power to the drivetrain and enables an auto start and stop function when the engine is shut off.

That means, when you jump behind the wheel of the Turbo S and channel the lead-foot in you, you'll find a 0-60 time of just 3 seconds burying you in your seat. The Turbo is just slightly slower, at 3.2 seconds. However, as the automaker is fond of doing, the performance estimates given here tend to be on the conservative side. So there's a good chance what you'll get in the real thing will be even more impressive!

The Turbo and Turbo S will be priced at $149,250 and $182,050 respectively, and expect to see them sometime at the end of this year. If you just can't wait, come on down to our Seaside, CA dealership. We'd be happy to show you around the new Porsche lineup, set you up with a test drive, and offer you a loan or Porsche lease to help you fit the budget, should you so desire.
