Are you a nervous driving in hazardous weather conditions? Here at Porsche Monterey, we understand and want to help our Seaside customers feel safer on the road. That's why we've put together these tips for driving in the rain.
Slow down when it's raining. This will help to prevent sliding. It will also allow you to brake more efficiently. You'll also want to eliminate unnecessary distractions so that you can better pay attention. Driving in the rain requires additional awareness.
Hydroplaning can be scary. This is when the car's tires leave the surface of the road and cause you to lose traction. Don't panic if you find yourself in a hydroplane. Simply life your foot from the gas pedal slowly to decrease acceleration and steer straight. Should you find yourself sliding, turn the wheel slowly in the direction of the skid to gain control. Avoid jerking the steering wheel in the opposite direction.
